Parish Health Ministry

The Parish Health Ministry seeks to promote the physical, mental and spiritual well being of the congregation and community through workshops, seminars, support groups and resources. They augment pastoral care to homebound and to those returning home from surgery, new mothers, and also assistance with health insurance forms, transportation, and meals when needed.

What is Congregational Health Ministry?

Do you provide care for a family member who is ill, or are you struggling with illness yourself? Are you anxious, worried, in a need of help with a health problem and don’t know where to go?

The Congregational Health Ministry can help answer your questions, direct you to the resources you need, and provide short-term crisis assistance.

All of our CH&W committee members have worked or are currently working in the health care field. They are familiar with resources in our congregation and community that may help with your health concerns. They can assist with explaining the medical "jargon" of an illness and help clarify the directions for caring for an ill family member. They can act as ombudsmen if you feel you are not getting the care you need, or they can simply offer a kind, understanding and sympathetic ear when you need one.

CH&W services are offered to you at no cost and are held in strict confidence. Any information given to a CH&W member is shared only with your pastor and other health care workers involved in your care. Please don't hesitate to call on us when in need.

"and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick."

Luke 9:2
