Interest Groups Starting at WG
It might be new for you to think you could use your interest or passion or hobbies to do ministry for Jesus Christ but it’s really nothing new. Jesus took fisherman and made them fishers of men. David was a harpist and wrote music to honor the Lord. Amy Grant was a singer and used her talent to Praise His Name. Today people use all kinds of talents to share the love of Christ. There is a ministry in the Teton Mountains for Father’s and Sons. I know of a ministry by professional water skiers that put on a water show and share their faith at the same time. A summer camp is a ministry mixed with the great outdoors. There are book clubs that are centered on sharing the love of Christ and much, much more.
So how can you use biking, knitting, soccer, fishing, dog walking, plane flying, golfing, fixing computers, running, or reading to reach others with the love of Jesus Christ?
This is how…
STEP 1: GATHER a group of others who love to do what you love to do on a regular basis.
STEP 2: GROW together in your walk with the Lord by reading a scripture together, praying together, singing a worshipful song together, reading a devotional together or having someone share how God is working in their life with the group.
STEP 3: INVITE others who are not walking with the Lord to be part of your group. People love to do what they love to do. You have the chance to make a impact in another’s life for Christ as you bowl or swim or paint or bike or study together.
We need you. The church needs you. The community needs you. Our world needs you. God can and will use you to impact another for Jesus Christ. We want to help you make your interest your ministry. We want to turn an audience into an army, consumers into contributors, to turn spectators into participators…it will change the world. It’s time to mobilize the disciples of Jesus Christ.
Do you know how much Christ cared for humans? So much that He stretched out His arms on a cross to die for us. That is how much He loved the church. Knowing that amazing love I am motivated to love others to Christ. Love others with my time and my actions. Love others with my words. Let us help you use your interest to love others to Christ.
If we want to walk close with Christ we have to care about what Christ cares about. He cares most about the lost being found. He cares about those far from him being close. Are you part of reaching those far from God? Do you care about what God cares about?
