Inwardly Digest…The Word
“Blessed Lord, who hast caused all Holy Scriptures to be written for our learning, grant that we may in such wise hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that by patience and comfort of Thy holy Word we may embrace, and ever hold fast, the blessed hope of everlasting life, which Thou hast given us in our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.” —The Collect for the Word

New Ways to Understand and Apply the Bible
“The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life,” Jesus tells His disciples. (John 6:63) That’s why we want to help one another acquire new skills to read His written words in Holy Scriptures. Our goal in this Sunday morning study and reflection group is to faithfully observe, interpret, summarize, evaluate, apply, and correlate what the prophets, evangelists, and apostles wrote in the Bible by the inspiration of His Spirit. They wrote for our everyday learning and eternal salvation.

Beyond Bethlehem
Christmas is one of the most celebrated Christian holidays, but many of the facts of the nativity are not well understood. This study will explore the depths of the Christmas story, including why Jesus was born a man, how He fulfilled Old Testament prophecies, and the roles played by Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, Anna, Simeon, and the magi. It is hoped that this study will provide greater insight into the significance of the birth of Jesus and the beginning of God’s plan of salvation.

Paul to the Saints: A Study of Ephesians
Paul's letter to the Ephesians may be two thousand years old but it still resonates with life for the Christian today. Join us as we read through this correspondence relevant for our life today. We will explore the God-given connections you have with the world around you, including your relationship with God, your coworkers, spouse, parents, and neighbor.

Questions for God
(September 12,19,26)
Why does God allow suffering? How can there be only one true religion? Don’t all paths lead to the same Truth? Is the Bible true? Or is the Bible just a collection of opinions from different authors? We will ask questions. We will be honest. We will explore the answers. And we will be prepared to respond for when our friends ask these questions of us! If all you want is information, this class is not for you. If you want to learn and grow and do something with what you learn, join us for these three weeks.

Believe it or Not
We live in an age when most people assume that they are free to pick and choose what they want to believe about their religion and “spirituality”. Lutherans disagree. What we believe is not a choice; it is given to us. For several months, this class has been studying The Book of Concord, the confessional statements of our Christian faith. The end is in sight, but the book’s final document is perhaps the most challenging of all. Join us as together we consider “The Formula of Concord” and learn a bit more about what it is that you believe!
